Southampton Central train station is served from all parts of the UK, from where the free CityLink shuttle bus will drop you outside the Red Funnel Ferry Terminal.

The hi-speed passenger only ferry service takes just 22 minutes to reach Cowes and runs every half hour. You cannot book this, just turn up. 0870 444 8898.

Once in Cowes come out of the ferry terminal onto the High Street and turn left. Walk all the way up the high street past Beckford Road until you reach the Police Station on your right and The Duke of York pub in front of you. Turn right up Mill Hill Road, and we are number 59 on the right hand side. This walk will take 5-10 minutes. It’s uphill so if you have heavy luggage you may want to hop in a taxi at the Terminal, usually about £3.

By Car
From the north
Exit the M3 at Junction 14 following the signs for M27 West and Southampton Docks.

From the west or east
Exit the M27 at Junction 3 (M271) Southampton West and Docks. Follow the brown English Tourist Board sign - WestQuay and Waterfront.

Continue to follow the sign marked Dock Gates 4-10 and brown English Tourist Board sign to WestQuay and Waterfront. Continue through one set of traffic lights, keeping to the outside lane. Bear right at a set of traffic lights on to the A33 and follow the signs to Dock Gates 4-8, WestQuay and Waterfront. Drive through a series of traffic lights until you reach the Mayflower roundabout with the De Vere Grand Harbour Hotel on the left and the Holiday Inn on the right. Take the right hand lane, follow the sign marked Dock Gate 4 Waterfront, and you will find Red Funnel's Terminal 1 on the right, signposted Red Funnel Dock Gate 7.

Once in East Cowes you need to cross the River Medina to Cowes. Either take your car on the Chain Ferry (Directions to Chain Ferry) known as the Floating Bridge for £1.40, which runs continuous crossings throughout the day (05:05 - 00:20) or drive to Cowes via Newport which takes about 20 minutes.

There are also services between Lymington & Yarmouth and Portsmouth & Ryde www.WightLink.co.uk.
